six hundred and sixty six, number of the beast, Iron Maiden wrote a song about it, but how much impact can it have on a persons day?
I'm just wondering because I came across the number on Thursday in my day-to-day work, I was writing a purchase order and it happened to be order number 666, I noticed it and thought "oh, that's interesting",
as you do and thought no more of it, until my day started to go wrong.
First of all, I managed to rip my brand new shirt :/ I was standing next to a door at the bottom of some stairs, what I didn't notice was that the back of my shirt had somehow got itself caught on the handle
to the door, I move to start walking up the stairs and I suddenly have a hole in the back of my shirt :( not a large problem, tuck the shirt back in and the hole wasn't noticable, but still suuuucks. Next problem,
I spilled my drink down my tie, not a major problem because it was water, but still annoying.
My day carried on like this, little problems here and there, things not working quite the way they should, not going quite my way. Then when I got home my computer started sulking in some very unusual ways (which is
why it's been a while since my last update, was hoping to get it done sooner.) External HDD not working properly, switching off when it feels like it rather than when I feel like it, etc.
So the question is, was 666 to blame? Or have I just had a really crappy few days by coincidence? I'm sure most people see this number at random points during their lives (I had it as my ticket number in Argos once,
was very disappointed when the guy behind the counter was boring about it) but do bad things happen because of it? Oh well, another question for the ages I suppose.
