Those of you who have read my blog and/or my old myspace blog should be vaguely familiar with the box, for those of you who aren't, have a read of this blog post to catch up.
The reason I mention it is that today ladies and gentlemen, we shall be taking a tour around said box, today we open the box that has been sealed for years and see what lies inside...
The plastic Rose taped to the top of the box, I'd forgotten to pack it away with the rest of the stuff and I had seriously sealed the box so I simply attached it to the top to remind me
what was in the box should I ever come to clearing out the roof.
I did put a lot of tape on this box, obviously didn't plan to be opening this any time soon, cut the tape away carefully as I did pack the box fairly tight, don't want to damage anything (at least, not yet.)
First thought as I open the box, I don't even remember some of this stuff, some of it is familiar, some of it I can tell you when I got it, birthdays, christmas, valentines, days out, etc.
A watch I used to wear, it was a birthday gift. I was gutted when it got damaged once and I had to take it to the jewelers to get it repaired.....it's stopped running now, probably needs a battery,
looks like it could do with a good polish too, effect of sitting in a box for years I suppose, maybe I'll take it into town after work tomorrow and see if I can get it cleaned up and working.
A caveman and cavewoman clay model set, bought off ebay by the look of them (theres a yahoo email address on the boxes, cute, don't remember exactly when I got them, but cute none the less.
A small bag / pencil case type thing that she made for me, never used it much but there it is.
A picture frame, still in it's box, has a picture of her in it, wearing her summer ball dress.....guess I had that one coming....small box with the standard stuff, bus/train tickets, movie tickets, etc.
Little charms and bits like that, one of them metal and a bit rusted, something else to clean up maybe.
Small charm box with a lock of her hair, odd that I didn't remember what was in it, really has been that long. Some more photos, another photo frame, smaller and empty. Small paperweight with a light up base,
not working, batteries dead? Might check if it still works, something for my desk at work maybe?
Some origami flowers and an origami flower vase-type thing, she was very artistic. Letters she wrote, won't sit here and read them now, a sterling silver chain she had engraved for me, years not been too kind on that either.
An interesting dragon statue, more notes, a drawing she did, a photo album with some more photos of her in it. A birthstone on a piece of string, gift tags from christmas and birthday presents, another photo frame, dragon design.
A piece of clear glass with dragon design, seeing a theme here? Some old cards, another drawing, some more photos and thats that.
So there we are, a chapter of my life examined, filed and displayed. What to do with it now I wonder? Answers on a postcard maybe? Or via the contact page? :p
