Vladisvok Destino's thoughts: Return of the Dread Lord

Well, it seems quite a long time since I last posted one of these doesn't it? It's not for lack of musings I assure you, it's a combination of time constraints and the difficulty I seem to have with putting my thoughts into words that you would all stand a chance at understanding.

I suppose I should start by giving you all a bit of an update on things. In CN I've left TOS and gone to USN, the simple reason for this is that ultimately TOS was going down a different road to the one I have placed myself upon, so the obvious solution was to leave. I was planning to retire from CN again but I'd always wondered what it was like on the inside of USN and when Cora extended an invite to me, how could I refuse? I've even somehow found myself back in alliance government, something I thought I'd avoid like the plague for my remaining time in CN, but I suppose it shows how people can change.

Generally online not that much has changed, I'm on a couple of forums I wasn't before, I've left a couple I was on, maybe I'll have some new viewers as a result, if so welcome why not take the time to read some of the older blogs so that you have a better idea of whats going on here? If not, welcome back old viewers.

Real Life on the other hand has been a bit of a mixed bag, as we shall explore in the next few blog posts. There's been some highs, been some lows, been some things that make you think, make you laugh at the stupidity of the species, make you angry at just how doomed we all are, make you sad and want to kill yourself (yes, looking at you Vesta.) But as always, it should be anything but boring.

Onto our topic for today then, recently for one reason or another I've had to do a lot of work about "Equality & Diversity" or as I call it "I hate you all equally and am very diverse in what I shall call you" and the more I have to do about this, the more it becomes apparent how far your society has sunk into the gutter.

People in one breath will say that it is wrong to discriminate and that everyone should be treated equally, yet in the very next breath say that there should be "positive action" policies to make sure more in . This is in itself discriminating by saying "well yes, someone else might be better for the job, but because this person has been under-represented in the past, we're going to let them have the job anyway." This is complete hypocritical crap. Either you allow everyone to go for the job and the best person gets it regardless of their race/age/gender/whatever, or you accept that it's ok to discriminate in certain circumstances (in this case "we need more in our company",) you can't have it both ways.

A brilliant example of this stupid thinking is when someone is blamed for not "representing" minority groups, when there is no possible way that the organisation could do any more to get more people from minority backgrounds into them. A school that is near me was criticised for just this in an OFSTED report, which in itself might not be an issue, perhaps you might argue the school doesn't properly represent the ethnic make up of the area it's in? Perhaps it could do more to attract students from different backgrounds? Except then you realise that the area the school is in is actually over 94% White British, so what is the school meant to do? Run a bus and start shipping in minority groups from other towns? Or is it more likely that some Politically correct idiot has no idea what the real world is like and is thinking "ZOMG THE SCHOOL HAS OVER 90% WHITE BRITISH KIDS, THEY MUST BE RACISTS?!?!?!?!" Give me a ****ing break you overpaid pathetic incompetent, probably inbred and intoxicated suit and go back under whatever rock you crawled out from under.

So yeah, I'm back, I'm still pissed off at the world your species has made, prepare to hear more about it next week...

As this is our first blog back, we won't be holding IRC QoTD or QoTD as there are just too many that should be recognised, starting next week our regular featurettes will return. Back to blog main
