Well, looks like I'm doing really well with this whole employment thing. Assuming we can rush all the paperwork through then next week my contract job becomes a perma job. Interesting how much one little decision in life can make such a big change.
It makes me wonder, what other little decisions in life do we make that can so much shape what our future holds for us? Turning left on a road rather than right, heading out 5 minutes earlier and so running into an old friend that you wouldn't have seen otherwise,
being in the right place at the right time, or the wrong place at the wrong time.
I wonder then, if each small decision can have such an effect upon our lives, are these decisions as free and without cause as they seem? Was it coincidence that meant your alarm didn't go off? You just happened to take an earlier/later lunch than usual that day?
You just happened to call in sick on that one afternoon? Or is there something more? Something that directs us? Some reason for even the smallest of actions? Even if the effect is not visible, did the fact that you went out 5 minutes late mean that you missed a car
on the road that you otherwise would have hit? It's an interesting thought, but one we're not likely to ever be able to prove I suppose...
