Now as some of you know, and any of you reading this blog should have figured out by now, I'm not a "happy" person by nature, but even for me there are things that really do annoy me more than usual, things that I would quite happily
punch people in the face for and one of them is the sort of Double Standards I saw during my time playing Cybernations and continue to see when I talk to people who still play the game.
A recent "public" example is the surrender terms given to Aurora Borealis by GOD and Nemesis, to quote an Echelon member "AB you've been an ideal ally in this war, sorry we brought you in against somebody who would go and take things personally".
Exactly how are GOD/Nemesis taking this personally? If they were out to settle the quite legitimate and deep rooted issues that exist between the alliances then quite frankly AB wouldn't have got peace right now and would most likely not get peace
AT ALL. To be completely honest I would be happy to see both AB and Echelon wiped from the face of Cybernations and anything less than that is the attackers being EXTREMELY generous in my opinion, the fact that when presented with very reasonable and
fair terms, even by the standards this war has set, that people have the bare faced cheek to insult the alliances in question like this really pisses me off.
Obviously Aurora Borealis members being petty and vendictive enough to attack the leader of Monos Archein, a person and alliance they dislike, without so much as a DoW is a BRILLIANT move by AB that should be praised, but these terms are going
too far and are just GOD/Nemesis making things personal shows quite frankly the sort of alliances that Echelon and AB are and I hope anyone who plays CN that reads this will remember their actions for the future.
Of course, it would be unfair to say that they are the only alliances guilty of this, Monos Archein itself has many glaring examples of the sort of double standards I'm talking about. Members who are in favour with the leadership getting away with murder
while those less fortunate are thrown to the dogs for minor offences. People with no skills, no talent, no business being in government are given high-ranking jobs, then are defended when people point out the obvious failings of those departments.
Oh well, such is life I suppose, hypocrisy and double standards are all around us, in our games, in our politicians, in our friends, in our family, in our lives. But it would be nice to imagine some area which would be free of such failings.
